It's been four years and yesterday we got married...

The events described below are authentic and copy-pasted here with its writer's permission. You are welcome to leave comments in comment section.

I want to share a story with you all.

I lost my first guild wars 2 account due to hacking/changing phone numbers/ex bfs and things went a little screwy. So I quit for almost a year.

My close friend convinced me to buy another account to play with him and some old guildies and new friends. He introduced me to his friend and we hit it off doing jumping puzzles. I completely suck at them but he has the patience of a saint!

We chatted over voice comms for a few days. I swear the moment I heard his voice I knew he was the one. (He doesn't believe me 😂) We realized we were close enough to drive to one another he decided to drive to me and meet me IRL.

I haven't looked back from that day. It's been four years and yesterday we got married.

We are so thankful for gw2 and the community. We are hooked on this game and continue to play together.

Everything you should know about level 80 boost

Level 80 boost item.
In this post I'd like to talk about one of the most controversial item in the game called "Level 80 boost". It is an item awarded to players who purchase one of two Guild Wars 2 expansions. It comes together with a few other items and one free shared inventory slot. The most frequent questions about Level 80 boost are:

Is it worth to use it? On which character?  On which class should I use it and why?

Before I answer all those questions - there are some things about Lvl80 boost, every GW2 player should know. First of all this item is unique - You cannot buy it from other players, or sell it to them. You cannot craft it nor find it anywhere, nor loot it from mobs. You cannot salvage it. Second of all - You can only use it once per item and then the item is destroyed after use. Those limitations are "equalized" by a possibility to try the item before use. Yes - You can boost Your character to level 80, then - if you change your mind - downgrade it back to the previous level and then You get Your item back.

Now, lets go back to those questions above:

Is it worth to use it? Definitely, if You are absolutely convinced that You want to do it. If You have doubts, do not use it, or just use it for trial. Do not commit to make the boost permanent.

Examples of situations in which 80lvl boost is worth using:
  • When You are experienced player with many hours spent in game, and You have many characters created already. Then it might be worth to create another one, boost it up to level 80 and leave it ("park it") somewhere nearby a location, where You can quickly and effortlessly get some expensive item or gold. Basically, use it as a "farming machine" parked in the place where You can get some quick and frequent income. For example: nearby the chest or mobs which are easy to kill, but with interesting loot.
  • When You have created a character, but You are in doubt if  this class is for You. You have doubts if You actually want to continue playing it, because You do not have such fun, as when You play with other classes. Then - use lvl80 boost just to see how it is going to be, when Your hero reaches level 80. If You don't like what You get - revert the process and delete this character. Be careful and don't delete the boost together with it! ;)
  • When You already know the class perfectly. You played it before, with a character that You deleted recently because You didn't like its appearance. This time You have decided to create a character with a different look, race and gender . Level it up to 80 with the boost to save time.

When it is definitely NOT worth to use the boost (a few examples):

  • When You are in doubt, or when the only reason why You want to use the boost is that You are lazy.
  • When Your character is high level already and You just want it to level up faster.
  • When You are absolutely new to the game and You do not know the game mechanics.

On which character?  On which class?
The question has no sense, and yet it is frequently asked by many players. If You have a basic knowledge about a use of Lvl.80 Boost then You should know, that it does not matter which class You use it on. It is really up to you and your plans and playing strategy.

What You get when You confirm that You want to boost Your character permanently?
Your character gets instantly to level 80. You also get one free shared inventory slot (after relog). In addition it gives You full set of exotic weapons, armor, and trinkets. Waypoints in Dry Top,  Frostgorge Sound and Straits of Devastation are also unlocked. You will NOT get any rewards for leveling up (except unlocks and higher stats).

What happens if You use Level 80 Boost on a level 80 character?

You get a full set of exotic equipment in a package.

How to acquire the Level 80 Boost ?

The only two ways of getting it are:
My asura mesmer doing Not So Secret JP
  • Buying it for 2000 gems in the gem store.
  • Buying one of  two expansions.

What I (the blog owner) used my Level 80 Boost for? Which character and why?
I have created an asura mesmer and parked it near the chest in Not So Secret Jumping Puzzle
location. I can open the chest regularly and help people to get up there. Mesmer's teleports are useful ;) NSSJP is in my opinion one of the most frustrating jumping puzzle in the game...

And what You guys used your Level 80 Boost for? On which character and why? You are welcome to leave the comments below.

Frequently Asked Questions

There are such questions about the game that seem to circulate all the time around community of new GW2 players. Those frequently asked questions are usually easy to answer , but the answers for a few of them, are not so obvious, even for those who spent many many hours playing the game.

I have decided to create this post with frequently asked questions to help those who are lost, and I tried to answer them. Some of those questions and answers You can easily find on other GW2 websites. Some of them are created by me or are "copy/pasted" strait from GW2 forums or Fb-pages dedicated to this game.

The list of questions below will be constantly replenished with new ones.

  1. Is there any endgame in GW2 ?  What to do after my character reaches level 80 ?
  2. The real game actually starts after You reach level 80. It is maximum level that Your character can reach in Guild Wars 2, but it does not mean that the game is over. Opinions, that there is nothing to do after a player reaches maximum level, are outdated and false. This kind of opinions are widely spread by those who quit playing the game long time ago - right after the game was released. The things changed nowadays  - GW2 developers created enormous amount of tasks to fulfill for us. Here are a few examples of what You can do. Finishing all of them could keep You occupied for a few years:
    • Dungeons, Fractals, Raids.
    • Joining a guild. Guild missions.
    • Participating in Halloween events, Wintersday events and other events.
    • Unlocking specific titles for Your character.
    • Getting good at fighting, practising skills.
    • Developing Your character to the max. Unlocking all the skills and specializations.
    • Unlocking all the masteries
    • Daily achievements
    • WvW, PvP
    • Buying / crafting ascended or legendary armour and weapons.
    • Finishing personal story. Finishing the stories in Your personal journal.
    • World Bosses
    • Map Completion achievement.
    • Creating and developing another character and choosing the main.
    • Role-playing
  3.  If I delete all my characters will I be able to change servers for free?
  4. Yes. But make sure You really want to do it, otherwise You will loose all Your characters forever, and You will regret it. There is however another safer method for changing servers - with gems. You can also change servers for free without deleting any of Your characters if You bought one of the expansions - You can do it for 0 gems just once.
  5. In how many guilds one player can be at one time?
  6. Five. If You are an owner of a guild, You can be in another four. However it is not possible to represent more than one guild at a time - You can decide which one.
  7. What is the best way to get gold in the game?
  8. There is no "best" way to do it. The world in GW2 is changing from time to time, and therefore the ways to get rich also. There are of course things that you can do to earn some in-game money, but which one is the best - hard to say. Some people saying: Do Fractals and Raids, others - go to a specific location and just keep killing mobs. Here is what I do:
    • Gathering all the materials I can. Without selling them! Materials are more important than gold in GW2.
    • Salvaging or selling low quality items.
    • Doing Daily Achievements (minimum 2GOLD par day guaranteed.
    • At least a few times per day doing Fractals. This is my favourite method of collecting money by now, and it is also quiet interesting. A lot of action, teamwork, nice loot, interesting locations - that is why I started to love it.
  9. Is there a healer class in Guild Wars 2 ?
  10. No, there is not. All the classes have some basic healing skills. There are, however, the classes that have stronger healing skills and specializations allowing them to heal others more efficiently. For example (Ranger with Druid spec. , Elementalist with water skills. , Guardians with a large variety of protection and healing skills)
  11. Is Guild Wars 2 really free to play ?
  12. Yes... and no. The main content (so called vanilla content) is absolutely free to play. All You have to do is - go to the official website and download the game from there. However, If You want to be able to play two expansions - You need to pay. Some items in the game are not free also - but they are just cosmetics or "eye-candies", or things that making the gameplay a bit more comfortable for a player. Guild Wars 2 is definitely NOT the "pay to win" type of a game.
  13.  To be continued...

Hidden Gardens - Dive Master

I finally made it! I have finished my Dive Master achievement and just to celebrate that moment I have decided to create this video. It took so long to finish it, especially the area called Not So Secret Jumping Puzzle was real pain in the ass for me. The hardest puzzle in whole Guild Wars 2 in my opinion. The area in the video below was the last location on my list to visit. It is called Hidden Gardens. Enjoy watching! and leave comments below if You feel the need.

What was the hardest JP in the game for You? Did You finish Dive Master achievement as well? Was it hard to do?

Really really cool friend

The events described below are authentic and copy-pasted here with its writer's permission. You are welcome to leave comments in comment section.

"So uh.... So guys uh...
About 2 weeks ago, I was streaming some wow for my friends, and an Australian viewer messaged me saying he donated $5 to me. Didn't believe him at first but my paypal sent me the email so I was like eh... thanks man. Over the next couple of days, he donated a couple more times, saying he enjoyed my stream, and I started playing with him and it turns out he was a really chill dude.
I got him into Gw2 and he fell in love with the game instantly. He tried his Scourge, but when I helped him unlock reaper, he went crazy over how sexy the melee greatsword user was. And he bought a Twilight for himself after I showed him all the legendaries! Made me super jelly but was really happy for him, something about Charr male necros with twilight that just makes me all fuzzy inside.
I woke up to this this morning. Somehow I made a really really cool friend, and also got a Gw2 sugar daddy aha. I don't know what to feel, my hands are still shaking "
